Become Our Market Master

Are you passionate about eating local in winter? Is keeping a connection between farmers, food, and community important to you in the winter months? Consider becoming the Bloomington Winter Farmers’ Market (BWFM) Market Master, connecting people and food while providing a place for community gathering during the darkest time of year.

The BWFM is looking for a Market Master for the 2019–2020 season. The position runs from April 2019 through March 2020, with peak commitment August through March. We seek a competent, dedicated, reliable individual who is available every Saturday, December through March. This position requires outstanding organizational skills, excellent communication skills, computer knowledge (Google Drive, spreadsheets, social media), and the ability to think critically and work well independently. Farm to Family Fund

Expanding access to as many as possible

Making healthful food more available to low-income households is one of the top priorities of the Winter Market. We work with farmers, local agencies, and government programs—and support our local, sustainable food systems and farmers along the way.

We partner with the Farm to Family Fund to double SNAP benefits up to $18 a week. In addition, Farm to Family Fund, an independent 501(3)(c) organization, buys produce from our farmers who take the risk of producing food during the winter months. At the close of the market, Farm to Family Fund purchases food that farmers wish to sell at half price to donate directly to The Rise, Community Kitchen, and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.
